The oldest record of the farm dates back to 1767, when the farmer Chiorgo built a manor house on the natural ridge between the Kožbanjšček and the Belska valleys. The villagers used to call him Čarga. The Čarga estate covers 25 hectares, over half of which is allocated to viticulture. We are proud of the geographical position, which is amongst the best in the Brda region.
The cultivation of the narrow terraces is demanding; however, the compensation is the quality of the grapes and the wines which are produces from these slopes. We wish to express the terroir with somewhat more mature and distinctly dry wines, which are rich in minerals that come from “opoka”, the marly soil of the Brda region. We value the endemic Rebula (Ribolla Gialla), however we do not disregard the cosmopolitan varieties from Bordeaux and Burgundy which have found a second home here.
