The Gubana. Prepared in a special way, it’s a yeast-based dough with a rich stuffing filled with nuts, hazelnuts, pinenuts and raisins enclosed as a fragrant rosebud. Originally created for holidays and festivities, the Gubana is actually a delicacy to be enjoyed everyday and everytime.
This homemade “Gubana” is the heritage of nonna Maria’s recipies dated to the early 30’s.
“Nonna Maria” used to make some as well; she would cross the border and use her aunt’s big oven to get them baked.
It’s an outstanding legacy based on values involving the use of high quality ingredients and a patient and skillful handmade preparation.
Spirulina is a food able to effectively fight tiredness and fatigue thanks to its high level of vitamins, especially those belonging to the B complex. Given the high protein content, it also has nourishing proprieties, helpful for those who want to maintain a healthy diet, without affecting lean body mass. It is a rich food suitable for everyone, it provides a lot of energy and it is particularly recommended for periods of intense intellectual or physical activity, to contrast inflammation, to rebalance blood pressure and to supplement vegan and vegetarian diets. The first and only spirulina seaweed farm of Friuli was born in Cormons, in the heart of Collio. The production system is peculiar and employs photobioreactors, in other words solar collectors in which pure water from the aquifer circulates and where the seaweed can grow. This particular system allows the least contact between water and air, avoiding contamination of the seaweed. As it is a closed system, the seaweed has many organoleptic proprieties because its metabolism is always in optimal growing conditions, thanks to the constant monitoring, which happens even remotely.
