Nando winery locates in Plešivo, a small village in Collio/Brda, just a step away from the Italian border: in fact, 60% of our 5,5 hectares where our vineyard extend are in Italy.
The ideal Mediterranean microclimate in this area is originated by the meeting between warm air from Adriatic see and the cold winds from Julian Alps. This combination creates the perfect conditions to produce white wines.
Our vineyards are at an altitude between 100 and 200 meters above sea level and we have ribolla gialla, tocai (friulano), Malvasia, but also chardonnay, sauvignon blanc, cabernet sauvignon and merlot, that means a blend of local and international wines that flourish in the typical marly soil here called “ponca” in dialect, or “opoka” in Slovenian.
We try to promote Collio/Brda huge potential, transferring the main features in a glass of wine. You will taste a balanced, full-bodied, and mineral wine and you will appreciate our organic wine-making method, that we carry out to obtain more enduring wines.
